Scream!
Scream Is an expressive piece
Its a reaction against the state of the world, of how people today treat other people. Of how we treat animals, of how we treat the world. I chose this medium as I feel that there is a lot to explore with digital programs.
The world is unjust and makes me want to Scream!
I hope my Audience will feel the same emotion that this artwork portrays and do something about it.
Sea Queen
Sea Queen Original Artwork
Sea Queen Remastered in Photoshop
A while ago I was working on concept art for a comic since I love to draw. My USP is drawing exclusively in pen and shading in pencil. I also go by the artist name SJLK and Conceptkiller. At the moment this is the only artwork that I've scanned and then worked on in Photoshop. I did this by researching and incorporating the colour Majorelle blue which is also known as ultramarine blue, to give the the character in the remastered Photoshop version a sense of being within the ocean abyss. I'll also be uploading and working on the others soon.
Robotica
This is inspired by Gorky, Arshile style of Abstract Expressionism. I wanted to convey how we feel trapped within the motion of movement. Each part signifies a section where we are trying to break through and discover new concepts. The little being on the right hand side signifies me as a human, trapped within my environment. Its position implies that rather than seeking approval, I should be facing another way.
I hope for the viewers to feel that own's self discovery can be greater than others recognition.
chaos Space
Chaos Space is a visual representation of a cacophony of colours. It shows an expression of what reality would be through the eyes of an alien being. Whereby all the senses become one and are portrayed as different colours.
We all want to know what the future holds. Especially when it comes to what humans could become. Futurist explores how we could evolve to have complete control over both our bodies and our environment.
I want to convey to the audience that all things are possible.
The medium I chose for this piece was a pencil and paper to initially draw the concept from my mind and then scanning the image and digitally adding colours and alterations. The style itself I think is more on the surreal side.
Utopian citY
New Media: 3D Sculpting, Digital, New Media on Other.
Here I am imagining a dystopian world inspired by the book Mortal Engines by Philip Reeve.
I first created the city Using a combination of an Architectural program called Rhino 3d and a 3D modelling Program Called Blender 3d. I then Played around with its composition with Photoshop. I want my audience to think about how you can combine different disciplines together to create a piece of art.
Enchanted Eye
The London Eye itself inspired me.
I seem to have a hunger to blur the lines between different creative processes in order to make something new and unique. I want to convey to the audience thats its good to collaborate with different processes. The mediums I chose for this piece was a Lumix FZ40 and Photoshop.
I first took a photo of the London Eye and then Digitally altered and enhanced it using Photoshop in order to create this collaborative style and show it in a unique way.
Doppleganger is inspired from Jordan Peele's movie Us. I chose this subject matter as I wanted to convey this notion of our other living along side us, in a parallel world or even just within ourselves in how we show our different versions to different people, but show this in an artistic way using different colours denoting the different sides of the same person which are shown back to back in this piece.
I want the viewers to think of how colours can reflect our different selfs an personalities and as themselves which of these differences is really Us.
Alien Autopsy
Inspired by H. R. Giger's Alien concept art. I wanted to created something similar but in the style of my Doppleganger digital artwork piece, I wanted to make the end result look as if it had been painted using water and oil based colours but i wanted to convey this using both drawing on paper and and digital techniques to simulate their effects.
When looking at this, I want my viewers to see what can be achieved by combining different techniques together. I chose this style as one of my interests lies within digital artwork and image manipulation. I also wanted to create something unique.
I chose this medium I'm quite enamoured with mixing different styles to create something unique. In this case it was photography, image manipulation and digital artwork all coalesced into an abstract expressionist piece.
What inspired me was the global lockdown that we are all experiencing at the moment. We've all been continuously misinformed,Ill advised and lied to. All these falsehoods and half-truths take the form of the Toxicity within the colours of the waves. The single floating debris and its insulated and isolated passengers in turn signify the hope that we will eventually land somewhere safe and secure and break free of our collective bondage.
Hopefully....
What inspired me for this piece was Greek mythology. This will be the first of many that i create. In this case the mythological creature I wanted to emulate was the centaur. I wanted to take that mythos and bring a 21st century twist to it using digital techniques. I hope that viewers can see and appreciate digital artwork as much as contemporary artwork.
My subject matter for this piece was simply watching different poses within everyday life and just wanting to recreate this . I really like the use of bright colours within other artist abstract work and so I wanted to use a similar art style but in my own unique abstract way.
